[x... The Rules1. The setting is in my own world's past (one of my many worlds) at the side of the world facing a small private beach. It's not earth, but earth-like. Treat it as such please. 2. Anything's allowed. Just remember where we are and act accordingly. 3. Okay, the normal site rules still apply, but you know what I mean. 4. I like pancakes ^. ^5. This world's called Seclasia. End of Rules....x] In a time when things were still, clean, new, unexplored, lay a beach away from any cities, villages, or other stations of humanity. This beach held the tannish white granules of sand within it's span and shimmered a steady green-blue. Animals come from all around to drink it's pure, fresh water as everything seems to thrive from it's nurishment. There is a lush forest just outside of the range of beach who's tangles and masses enclose and protect the area from human invasion. The only "humanoid" beings that are in the vacinity are those who guard the beauty of this untouched expanse of forest and beach. They remain very quiet and unseen, yet their presence is always felt, both by the creatures, and by any man (or woman) who comes near. Usually described as the "forest spirit" or "protector", no one has ever truely seen it. And so the legends have started and the forest remains unpenetrated. For now.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this…” Her words were mixed in with rasping breathes of air as she clenched her teeth slightly against the pain of thorns finding their way into her bare feet. It was her people’s custom to not wear shoes, much against her own current wishes. Shoes would have been a blessing from God in this place. She had knotted up her long orange-red hair as best she could, stuffing the knob that was left hanging under a scarf tied tightly around her neck and chest. The scarf also served to hold up the bags of her loose fitting shirt and its sleeves, at least helping a little to keep it from catching. She regretted not having grabbed boys’ clothes before setting out however, because her skirt kept catching on things and causing her to trip. She hadn’t even prepared herself for this trip, had no idea how long it would take, or how she was going to get back. She continued forward, keeping a tight grasp on the bottle as she weaved her way through the vines, roots and trees, always getting a strange feeling of someone watching her. She didn’t like the uneasy feeling she got from the forest, but it wasn’t going to do her any good to turn back now after she had come so far. She wasn’t going to let some creepy forest keep her from finally being accepted. She tripped over some roots and vines, only to pull herself back up again and continue to push forward, always careful to move in the same direction. There would be plenty of time for her to rest once she reached the beach.

A grotesque warbling sound reverberated through the leaves overhead. Birds blew, shrieking past the girl's head, one's wingtip hitting her hair as it flew past in a panic. Swarms of animals rushed in the direction the girl headed, fleeing in fear as the warbling changed into a high-pitched krooning roar. The sound rushed closer quickly as a gnarled tree root seemed to reach up for the female's leg.
Meanwhile, deeper in the forest, a being heard the creature's calls. With a deep sigh, the ice-blue eyes of the being turned in the direction. "Hunting again? I thought it was done for the month. How unusual for the Xeltol to hunger so soon." Gracefully slipping the silken length of hair behind it's back, the being strode in the direction of the commotion.
